ACRO Shoe Adaptor Replacement Plate #12061 for the ACRO 12060 Universal Guard Rail system model which targets low pitch roofs, including metal roofs. Unique to the system is the low profile attaching plate which is attached either by nails, bolts or screws. Even welding is an option. A connecting shoe and post are added to complete the system. Pre-cut 2 x 4 studs are used for cross rails. During removal, the attachment plate may be left on the building greatly reducing take down time. The low ½" profile is easily covered below the roof surface. Other applications when the safety rail is needed on top of an existing roof (skylights or stairwell); screws are easily removed during take down.
Installing and Mounting the ACRO 12060 Bracket to the Rail Plate #12061:
- 1) U.S.A. post plate #12061 should never be positioned to extend closer to the edge beyond the structural framing (i.e. onto decorative edging, OSB, etc.).
- 2) Keyhole slots shall face into the roof deck or platform.
- 3) Install the #12061 plate into an approved structure capable of withstanding a 200 lb load in the direction that the fall would occur. (Outer edge).
- 4) All 6 Round 5/8" holes in the #12061 plate shall be filled with #12 x 2.5’’ screws or approved equivalent (arrowed in red below). Three of the 6 fasteners shall fully penetrate a truss or framing member to fully achieve the proper holding power.
- 5) Other method of mounting the 12061 plate is to bolt the plate through decking with the use of ½’’bolts with washers
- 6) Spacing between bracket shall not be more than eight (8) feet apart.
